Anna Brown
Anna Brown, M.S. CCC-SLP, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from Purdue University, and a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders from University of Louisville. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), as well as a California State License as a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist.
With a broad scope of clinical experience and expertise, Anna has worked with both pediatric and adult populations in a variety of settings, including: early intervention programs, private practice, schools (preschool through high school), craniofacial specialty clinics, neurological rehabilitation clinics, hospitals (outpatient/inpatient) and skilled nursing facilities. She is currently working with children in school and home settings. Anna has assessed, diagnosed, and treated a wide range of speech and language needs in these settings, as well as created individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practice.
Areas of experience include: expressive/receptive language, pragmatic (social) language, articulation, phonology, fluency, voice, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), apraxia of speech, autism, attention deficits, auditory processing disorders, cleft lip/palate, craniofacial anomalies, feeding and swallowing disorders, aural rehabilitation for deaf and hard of hearing, selective mutism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, post-stroke aphasia, dysarthria, dementia, traumatic brain injury (TBI), head and neck cancer (HNC), and various neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), multiple sclerosis (MS) and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
Anna values the importance of close, consistent parent/family collaboration and education for increased progress and generalization of communication skills into everyday life. She is so grateful for all the wonderful opportunities she’s experienced so far in her career, and for the amazing families she’s been able to work with and continues to work with.
In her free time, Anna enjoys staying active with beach days, hiking, traveling, hot yoga, dancing, writing, acting, and basketball. She loves spending time with friends, family, and her two cats, Moose and Peanut.
